Diary

23 June 2001

Away until 1 July so will start again then.

22 June 2001

Georgie has found a new spot to catch the evening sun. I have a large pot containing a Russian Vine which is surrounded by other shrubs. The pot itself catches the sun from about 5.30pm until it sets. Georgie just fits on the pot provided she curls up in a tight ball, one of these days I will take a picture and add it to the Gallery.

21 June 2001

Longest day and very warm, nothing new to report on the last couple of days.

20 June 2001

Runcie has found somewhere much more comfortable, for her anyway! She stretches out on MY sunbed, admittedly she does allow me on too but only if I don't disturb her. When it gets too hot she moves to underneath until she cools down again.

19 June 2001

Warmer weather sarting again and the cats are venturing out in the garden fo longer spells, even Thomas! All of the have their favourite spots, Runcie under the Rock Rose Bush, Buster on the bench under the Arbour and Georgie and Thomas tend to have a bit of a spat about who is going under the Eucalyptus Tree, Georgie usually wins due to the racket she makes and Thomas slopes off to under the Buddleia.

18 June 2001

Its strange isn't it, when you don't keep a diary you can think of 100 reasons why you should, when you do, you can't think of anything to put in it! I am sure the cats know I am watching them and waiting for something interesting to happen hence the fact they keep the interesting escapades to when I am not around.

17 June 2001

Weather has changed, more rain and not very warm with it either! So, surprise, surprise, all cats are curled up asleep in various parts of the house. Runcie and Georgie on my bed, (Thomas did try to join them but was spat at by Georgie!) Buster on the spare bed and Thomas relegated to the top stair.

12 June 2001

The next few days are pretty busy for me so the diary will be on hold for a while.

11 June 2001

Thomas has now decided that having a good brush is actually quite nice. He resisted for a long time but I suppose with the warmer weather his coat is now just too thick for him. He has of course been shedding all over the place but wouldn't let me give it a helping hand until now. Stupid cat he has been missing out on this little pleasure for months, now he can't get enough, he's almost as demanding as Georgie.

10 June 2001

More prawns and Salmon, life is very good and with sunshine as well, could it actually get any better?

6-9 June 2001

Much the same as the 5 June, very boring.

5 June 2001

The sun has finally started to show itself on a regular basis and Thomas and Runcie think life is great. Have breakfast, bask in the sun. Have lunch, bask in the sun. Have tea, bask in the sun. Have supper, go to bed. Georgie and Buster however, do the eating bit and the sleeping bit but, the sleeping bit is confined to the house, not really sun lovers.

4 June 2001

I am starting to work from home and have visitors to the house, at the moment, most of these are friends as well as clients and the cats think that life is great. They get spoilt and pampered by all who come. One friend brought lunch for us, this consisted of salad but with.......poached salmon and tiger prawns, the cats (all except Thoams) thought Christmas had come early, they too had a small portion of both. In case you think we were being unkind, Thomas was offered but declined, he still hasn't enhanced his Alley Cat tastes.

3 June 2001

I really am unpopular when I go out for the day, you would think I had abandoned then totally! I get ignored and then pleading looks for food as though it has been weeeks since they were last fed. Apart from that nothing much to report at the moment.

2 June 2001

Success with Buster and Thomas this morning, whilst stroking both of them they move towards each other and nuzzled the faces together whilst purring. I hope this is the start of a reasonable friendship.

Spoke too soon, this afternoon as Buster was sitting in the doorway to the kitchen from the hallway Thomas wanted to pass, did Buster allow his new found friend access to the kitchen? Did he heck as like! He swiped Thomas on the nose although there were no claws which is a bonus, Thomas backed off and looked pathetically sorry for himself.

1 June 2001

Runcie and Buster have gone off their diet food again, that didn't last long! However, it is nothing to do with their health, they still want to try whatever I am eating!
