February 2003
This month has started off much the same as last, cold and snowy. The cottage next door is nearing completion and most of the noise has stopped. However, the thatch cottage at the back is now being demolished and will be rebuilt, the garden is being cleared, it was totally undergrowth about 2 foot high and has revealed an Orchard full of mature Apple trees. I understand it will be left as an Orchard which is good.
All of the cats are venturing out now and Runcie seems to have got over her upset tummy. It has been sunnier in the last few days and this has helped their exploration. Georgie is still preferring to be out in the evenings but that is not really anything new.
Last night
it sounded as though there was a baby elephant running round the bedroom, a
quick investigation revealed.............Georgie and a mouse in the front bedroom!
She was having lots of fun and was most indignant when I removed it, I tried
replacing it with a toy catnip mouse but she wasn't fooled and was certainly
not impressed.
If you have read previous diary entries you will know that this is not the first time we have been in this situation, Georgie is the mouser and is always willing to prove it.
Not much else to report for this month, short month, cold and snowy so very
little activity. We do however an improvment in the relationship between Thomas
and Georgie, not all the time I have to say but there is a definate warming!
I think the photo below shows them as close as they have ever been in the past.
