February 2002
Both Runcie and Buster have had to have blood tests for their kidney failure. Both are doing well, the count for both kretanine and urea are down for both of them, so, although they aren't eating the full amount of their special diet obviously what little they are getting is doing some good. Still very active although to those who know them they have both lost weight.
Runcie has decided that her accident with the linen basket (see January 2002) was a good one! She is now to be found snuggled in it on lots of occasions.
Thomas is still very much an indoor cat unless I am outside then, he will spend all day out in the garden, just doesn't like being on his own I guess.
Patches is still with us, sneaking in and bypassing the food bowls and heading straight for the toy basket, doesn't stay if he hears me but quite obviously can't resist the catnip mice.
Georgie has her favourite game too, this is to climb with dirty paws onto a friends car when he parks at the back of the house under the carport, it is a soft top so is very comfortable for her and its in the dry too of course. However, the easiest way down is to slide straight down the windscreen, still with dirty paws! Doesn't make her very popular.
Vet again! Thomas has got to lose weight, 7.1kg now. Vet has suggested I add roughage to his diet although preferably NOT sprouts! I have started adding brown rice, you would think I am trying to poison him, what a look of disgust.
The others have no objections though and it won't do them any harm either. Thomas just looks at me with that " she'll put something decent down when I don't eat this" look, who's in for a surprise then???? At this rate he may well start to cook his own food.
Exercise would be good I wonder how I get him to take up jogging?
Bought new cat flap today, electromagnetic no less! Astronomic cost of £70! had to buy 4 collars and 2 extra magnets as well, all I can say is it had better work.
Must get the new cat flap fitted soon, came down to dish up breakfast this morning and found I had 5 cats!
