The cat sitter didn't find the time to write any notes, however, I did receive
2 text messages and a phone call on the last day of my trip! "Help, Buster has
lost his collar, should I tape down the cat flap so he can get in or leave it
so that if he goes out he can't get back in?" Why can't you put it back on I
asked, is it lost completely? " No, he has sharp claws on the end of four feet
and a set of teeth I know that he will use and I don't want to get scarred!"
came the reply. Leave him out I said, I will be back soon. The cat sitter is
a 6' 4" male, scared of a small harmless cat, I ask you!
I put the collar back on when I got home, Buster just sat and let me do it. I do admit though that he tends to give a sharp nip when he gets over excited so, I suspect that if someone is trying to strangle him with a collar that he doesn't want he could (and most probably would) give a nasty bite. If you have been reading the diary you will remember I purchased a "friendly cat" electric scent ball, I can't say it has been an overnight success but there has been an improvement in the attitude of both Thomas and Georgie.
Thomas has a favourite game and due to the current weather conditions has been playing it quite often recently. He sits on the desk by my computer and watches out of the window, when it is raining, he "chases" the raindrops down the window, covers the window in paw marks but has great fun!
I was away again
this last week and the again had a "cat sitter" who again said he
would keep note on the antics whilst I was away but again, didn't! However,
he did tell me a story about Buster (he who is supposed to be thick, according
to this particular sitter!) Buster has been a bit of a bully of late, rubbing
up against the other cats and then, when they least expect it, taking a swipe
at them. This was evidently going on whilst I was a way to the extent that Buster
was banished to the hallway while the food was being prepared. Now this didn't
seem to upset Buster one little bit which came as a surprise to the sitter as
Buster was desperate to get at the food. He soon found out why! The "thick"
cat had simply turned left, walked through the room and out through the double
doors to the conservatory, turned left again, through the archway back into
the kitchen and crept up behind him waiting to be fed, thick cat? I don't think
so!
A bit of news now, I am (all being well) moving from Essex to Norfolk. Runcie
has already moved once with me and certainly Thomas and Buster have moved of
their own accord when they decided to set up home with me, Georgie has moved
as a kitten some 4 years ago but this will be a new experience I am sure. No
date has been set as yet but I will keep the diary updated as and when.
